There are several ways of having your foreign qualifications assessed and recognised in Denmark. Which procedure is appropriate depends on how you plan to use your qualifications:

How to get an assessment
- You send the application form and documentation to the Danish Agency for International Education.
- The Danish Agency for International Education examines the documentation. You may be asked to provide further documentation.
- The Danish Agency for International Education makes an assessment of your qualification. This normally takes 1-2 months from the time you send the application and the required documentation.
- You receive an assessment letter. If you want careers and educational guidance, you can take the assessment with you to the nearest guidance centre (Studievalg) or job centre.

If documentation cannot be provided
If you are unable to provide sufficient documentation for an assessment to be made, you may instead apply for a background report.
How much does the assessment cost?
An assessment is free of charge. Please note that the Danish Agency for International Education services do not include any translations
How long does the assessment take?
Case processing time is normally between one and two months. This time is counted from the time the Danish Agency for International Education has received all necessary information and documents.
