Particulars regarding home transportation

The public travel health insurance only covers extraordinary home transportation costs from Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and only if the home transportation has been prescribed by the SOS doctor. In case of death, home transportation is covered in the entire service area of the public travel health insurance.

In addition to the above, Denmark has an agreement with the Nordic countries - i.e. Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden - meaning that further costs are covered if a doctor prescribes home transportation in a manner more expensive than that originally planned by the traveller.
