What is the Visiting Service?
The purpose of the
Visiting Service is to inspire to contact between human beings, so
that both the visited and the Red Cross visitor benefit from the
experience. The visiting service is
directed at people who feel a desire and a need to connect with
another human being, either of the same or another nationality.
Who can receive visitors?
People who feel a
desire to connect with another human being, either of the same or
another nationality. Maybe you feel alone
and isolated, and would therefore like to be visited by, and share
good times with, another person. You may
have a hard time with physical exercise by yourself, and would like
to be visited by someone who can help you. Or you may be a single
parent, and want to establish contact with a voluntary visitor or
visiting family.
Who can be a voluntary visitor?
The voluntary visitor may
be of Danish ethnicity, or of an ethnicity other than Danish.
Regardless, he/she must have the time and the energy to be there for
another person on a weekly basis.
The visitor is a
volunteer, and will not receive a salary. For
this reason, it is without cost to have a voluntary visitor.
The voluntary visitor is like any other friend
stopping by to have a good time, talk, go on walks, or anything else
you might decide to do together. The
voluntary visitor can also help you with physical exercise etc. in
your home.
Would you like to be a voluntary visitor, or would you like to
