In this table (click here) you can see what to do if you become unemployed. Something is common to everyone but there are also differences, depending on whether you are a member of an unemployement insurance fund or not.
If you are receiving the introductory benefit, yet another set of rules apply
What is activation?
-
Guidance and upgrading, for instance through various courses
-
A traineeship in a company
-
A job where your pay will initially be subsidised by the State
A job plan is a written agreement between you, Jobcentret or the local authorities. The agreement defines what you must do in order to find work again. You can help decide what your job plan should define. But if you don't know what to write, Jobcentret or the local authorities will decide for you. Therefore, it is a good idea to consider your own wishes first.
If you are receiving the introductory benefit...
If you fall under the Integration Act, you and the local authorities will make an agreement on how to make you enter the Danish labour market. The introductory programme that you must go through has been organised so that it fits your profile. The individual contract describes what your are entitled to and what you have a duty to dos for instance, active participation in Danish language courses, courses in Danish society and activation.
Previously, you had to learn Danish before you could start working at a Danish workplace. This has changed. Today, you do not have to be fluent in Danish in order to be employed at a Danish workplace, for instance in the form of a traineeship. In stead, you may, once you get into activation at a workplace, continue to receive Danish lessons. This may be arranged so that you are at the workplace for three days a week and take Danish lessons two days a week, for example.
You are only entitled to the introductory benefit for a maximum of three years. After this, if you still have not found work, you may receive the "starthjælp".
